Spirit Airlines Rises on Cost-Cutting and Asset Sale Plans.

Spirit Airlines shares rose 16% after announcing plans to cut jobs, sell 23 older Airbus planes for $519 million, and reduce costs by $80 million. American Airlines Tests Boarding Tech to Prevent Line Cutting.

American Airlines is trialing technology at three U.S. airports to reduce line cutting during boarding. When a passenger attempts to board before their assigned group, the system alerts gate agents, who then remind the traveler to wait for their group. Agents can override alerts for passengers traveling with higher-status companions. The airline reports positive initial results, aiming to streamline boarding and enhance priority benefits for travelers.

Dexcom Shares Drop 9% Despite Beating Q3 Expectations.

Dexcom's shares fell 9% after reporting Q3 results that exceeded earnings and revenue expectations but showed a 2% decline in U.S. revenue. The company maintained its fiscal-year guidance at $4 billion to $4.05 billion, following a previous reduction. CEO Kevin Sayer noted improvements in restructuring and sales challenges. Delta Sues CrowdStrike Over Costly Technology Outage.

Delta Air Lines has sued CrowdStrike, alleging that a flawed update from the cybersecurity firm led to a technology outage in July, resulting in over 7,000 canceled flights and $500 million in losses. Delta claims CrowdStrike failed to test the update properly, while CrowdStrike asserts that Delta misunderstands cybersecurity and seeks to shift blame for its outdated IT infrastructure. The Department of Transportation is investigating Delta’s delayed recovery and customer service issues during the disruption.

McDonald's Quarter Pounder Returns Amid E. Coli Investigation.

McDonald's will reintroduce its Quarter Pounder burgers to about 900 U.S. locations, excluding slivered onions, after an E. coli outbreak linked to the item led to one death and several hospitalizations. The suspected source, slivered onions, is under investigation, and McDonald's has stopped using supplier Taylor Farms. Affected locations across 13 states will restock the burgers on a rolling basis. McDonald's apologized to customers for the outbreak and assured them contaminated ingredients were removed.

Wise CEO Fined by UK Regulators Over Tax Disclosure Failures.

Kristo Käärmann, Wise’s CEO, was fined £350,000 by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) for failing to report a tax-related issue, breaching senior management conduct rules. This follows a previous fine from HMRC for overdue tax filings. Wise's board reviewed Käärmann’s conduct and allowed him to continue as CEO after corrective actions.
